Googlea year agoHaving initially had a consultation with a solicitor at the Guildford office, who seemed to be very good, I discovered that she was on maternity leave…
when I needed representation, and I was given a different solicitor at their Basingstoke office, who at the time seemed to be ok. However, since the hearing, I have discovered that the advice that I was given by her was either incorrect, insufficient or incomplete. Prior to the court hearing, the solicitor at the Basingstoke office transferred me to a solicitor at their Southampton office, because they were nearer to the court, which didn't actually make any difference, as I was being represented by a Barrister, not one of their solicitors. This solicitor happened to be on leave at the time of my hearing, so she shouldn't have been given my case anyway. The Southampton office were utterly useless, and their incompetence (by a solicitor who is also a director) meant that I actually missed the first court hearing. A lack of proactivity, general incompetence, and changes of solicitor, made the final outcome very different to what it should have been, with an unnecessary intervention taking place. I had legal aid for this case, and with hindsight, CLP just pushed it through so that they got paid - the outcome was irrelevant and clearly didn't matter to them. The incompetence and failings of this business has had a massive negative impact on the life of my children, and my life. I would not recommend this business to anyone.
