“I completed an online form on a BlueLion Claims website (trading as “Am I Owed A Car Finance Refund” / “The Finance Claim”) purely to check whether I might be owed money.

It was an eligibility check only. I never instructed this firm, never signed any letter of authority, retainer, damages-based agreement or terms of engagement, and never gave them permission to contact my lender or take any action on my behalf. Despite this, BlueLion Claims: Falsely claimed in writing that I had “instructed” them on 19 August 2026 Submitted a formal complaint to 247 MONEY in my name without any authority whatsoever Sent repeated progress emails treating the claim as fully authorised Continued to process and use my personal data after I had clearly told them in writing that I never instructed them Completely ignored my formal complaint of 28 August 2026, in which I demanded they immediately withdraw the unauthorised complaint, confirm they no longer act for me, delete my data, and pay compensation for the distress caused They have produced no evidence of any signed authority or valid retainer. They have simply continued to act as if one exists. This is not a misunderstanding or administrative error. A firm regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority has taken formal steps with a lender using my personal information without my knowledge or consent. When directly challenged and given the opportunity to put it right, they chose to ignore the complaint entirely. I will be reporting this firm to the Solicitors Regulation Authority for acting without instructions and professional misconduct. I will also be escalating the matter to the Legal Ombudsman and the Information Commissioner’s Office. I will not be dropping this. Anyone who has only completed a “free check” with this firm should urgently check whether a complaint has been submitted in their name without proper authority.
