I recently used DFA Law for a family matter (probate and estate administration) and I couldn’t be happier with the service I received.

From the very first call, the team was professional, approachable and clear in explaining everything. My solicitor took the time to understand the full picture, kept me updated regularly, and was realistic about timelines and costs. In what is often a stressful and emotional process, they made it feel manageable and straightforward. The firm has clearly been around for a long time (over 180 years!) but they’re not old-fashioned in their approach — everything was handled efficiently with modern communication (email, phone, and secure portal).I particularly appreciated their straightforward fees and no surprise bills. Would definitely recommend DFA Law to anyone in Northamptonshire needing reliable solicitors for wills, probate, family law, or property matters. Highly recommended.

I used DFA Law for their conveyancing services on my recent house move and found them efficient, thorough and professional from the outset.

Not everything was straight forward with the purchase but DFA had it all covered and were on hand every step to ensure I was informed and well advised. Highly recommended

I wait in vain for a call back from my urgent enquiry almost a week ago.

I phoned twice, the first time to be told the team members were in a meeting. Their representative promised to email the details of my case to them and that the team would decide upon the most appropriate member to take on my case, and reply. One and a half hours later with no response and 10 minutes before their closing time, I phoned again to be told that I would get the call soonest the next morning. No such call came. I chose DFA simply because of their marketing leaflet found in the hospital bereavement pack after my mother’s death. The extravagant claims made in that leaflet bear no relation to the reality of their dismal response. Needless to say, I have found an alternative company who have the courtesy to reply, respond and deal with my enquiry efficiently.

Slow to get things done.

Needed to chase them up repeatedly following a bereavement. Paid the best part of £10k for an estate totaling just over £200k. Not bad work for a few dozen emails, a zoom call and calculations for my parents estate.

I received legal advice today around my consumer rights.

Lucille was helpful and approachable, she has given me the advice I need to be confident in my argument going forward. Highly recommend, even if it’s a one off it pays to get the right advice.
