Google3 months ago(Posted under an alias name to preserve anonymity) I recently used Joanna Robson, but unfortunately would not recommend Landau Law.
On Google, the firm comes first in the algorithms for "free employment law advice" (I paid £942 inc. VAT for the first consultation). An attempt was then made to seek further costs (£300 inc. VAT) for advice on a settlement agreement, despite Landau Law's guarantee on its website that "we will not charge our clients more than the legal contribution of fees from their employer for reviewing the settlement agreement" (despite my employer providing £750 towards the settlement agreement). I had to pay the £300 (refunded in the end) or else I wouldn't have been allowed to sign the settlement agreement. The retainer terms provide that Landau law with "deal with queries promptly" and keep you "regularly informed of progress, or if there is none, when you are likely to next hear from us". My queries were never dealt with promptly and I was always left wondering whether certain agreed letters/emails had been sent to my employer or not. Moreover, I almost missed the deadline for accepting my employer's settlement offer (by virtue of not being able to get in touch with Ms Robson) and the night before the deadline was to expire (after chasing Ms Robson for a whole week) Ms Robson told me that she had "social plans that evening" (!) All in all, I wasn't happy with the level of service provided, the retainer terms aren't adhered to, the communication was not good, and one could argue that there are some slight misrepresentations on their website as to costs. This is coming from someone who is also a solicitor and very well versed in misrepresentation cases.
