Our conveyancing journey started in October and completed in February. As we privately (FSBO – For Sale By Owner) decided to sell our 2 bedroom semi-detached house in BD5 and move into our 3 bedroom semi-detached house in BD7. We utilised the services of “Ashwells Law LLP”; to undergo the instructing of a solicitor for legal conveyancing. The solicitors were contacted by telephone and the process started more or less instantly. “Ashwells” drafted the contract and we were well on our way. ‘Hanif’ and ‘Shak-Bhai’ handled our case load and they were always on the ball with phone calls, (voicemail left), emails and we made just 2 visits to their head office. They took into consideration that we were not always available to respond quickly; as of our very tight work schedules and school run. This meant the process would be delayed. Also as we were selling privately to a known person to us, we were kept informed on the buyers side too (by the buyer) and this made the process a little easier with any chase-ups. They also had full time work commitments and this also ended up delaying the process. The buyers conveyancing team raised a numerous amounts of questions about the conservatory and we and the solicitors were back and forth. This delayed the process even more; nevertheless “Ashwells” diffused the situation. Finally completion was done and the keys were handed to the new buyer, who moved in straightaway; as we beforehand moved out and then moved in to our newly renovated and decorated house.
