We were not Gateley’s direct clients - they acted for our vendors solicitors - but their mistakes had a serious impact on us as buyers. Our purchase fell through because Gateley’s failed to register their clients title at the Land Registry (seems to be a running theme reading other reviews). Their oversight caused unnecessary delays. They also lost key documents, which meant a real risk of only getting possessory title. We were out of pocket by hundreds of pounds and they refused to take responsibility or reimburse us. Would not trust them with conveyancing. Having them involved in our chain caused our whole experience to be stressful, expensive and disruptive to our whole family. We will not enter into purchases in future if Gateleys are involved in the chain.
