My husband was represented by DAVID HARBORNE & Headley Solicitors, and our experience has been extremely disappointing. Throughout the case, there were multiple failures to act in my husband’s best interests. Clear and repeated instructions were given, yet they were ignored without explanation or consultation. We were never advised that these instructions were inappropriate or unworkable—they were simply disregarded. There was also a serious breach of trust when a confidential report was uploaded without our knowledge or consent. We were not informed beforehand, nor consulted on this decision. To make matters worse, the timeline of events we were given was misleading, and we have evidence (including phone records and messages) that contradicts what we were told. Communication was poor overall, especially regarding key decisions. The defence appeared to align with the prosecution’s position by agreeing with a doctor’s report, without discussing this with us or explaining the implications. We were not given the opportunity to make informed decisions about the case. Due to these issues—including lack of communication, failure to follow instructions, and concerns around confidentiality—we have lost trust in this firm. We have formally complained to both the solicitor and the Legal Ombudsman and have since changed legal representation. I would strongly advise others to consider alternative solicitors.
