I had a very positive experience using 174 Family Law for financial mediation, and in particular with Helen Pittard as mediator. From the outset, Helen was professional, calm and approachable throughout what was a very high-conflict and difficult situation. One thing that made a huge difference to me personally was that shuttle mediation was accommodated throughout, including arrangements for me to attend separately and avoid unnecessary contact between parties. This helped me feel far more comfortable, relaxed and able to properly engage in the process. I always felt listened to, respected and that my concerns and position were genuinely heard and understood. Helen handled discussions in a balanced and constructive way whilst still keeping matters moving forward toward resolution. What had unfortunately been an ongoing situation for well over a year through solicitors alone was ultimately brought to a conclusion within a matter of months through mediation. The process was also significantly better value for money compared to prolonged solicitor correspondence and potential court proceedings.
