Here's an updated version that includes your concern about the settlement explanation: I was extremely disappointed with the overall handling of my claim. Throughout the process, I felt that my injury was underestimated, my symptoms were not taken seriously, and the value of my claim did not fairly reflect the impact the injury has had on my life. I also felt that the doctor who assessed me did not have the appropriate expertise to properly evaluate the complexity of my injury and ongoing health problems. A private X-ray identified an issue, yet this evidence was dismissed without a clear explanation. I found it difficult to understand how imaging showing an abnormality could simply be disregarded without further investigation or referral to an appropriate specialist. In addition, I felt that my solicitor repeatedly downplayed the severity of my symptoms despite not being medically qualified. Rather than relying on the medical evidence, I felt my condition was questioned on a number of occasions. I was also repeatedly encouraged to attend court, even though I had explained that my health conditions made this extremely difficult and that the additional stress and pressure could worsen my symptoms. I did not feel that sufficient consideration was given to the impact that litigation itself was having on my health. Another major concern was that the settlement was not explained clearly. I understood the £1,500 settlement offer to mean that I would receive £1,500 in compensation. I did not appreciate that significant deductions could be taken from that amount, leaving me with a much lower payment. Had the financial implications been explained to me in plain, clear terms, I would have been in a better position to make an informed decision about whether to accept the offer. Overall, I was left feeling that my claim was undervalued and that the full extent of my injuries and ongoing difficulties was not properly recognised. I expected my concerns to be listened to, the medical evidence to be given appropriate weight, and the settlement process to be explained clearly so I could make an informed decision. Instead, I left feeling unheard, unsupported, and disappointed with the way my case was handled.
