A totally disgusting company to have dealings with. Unfortunately, during a very bitter divorce in 2023 , my mortgage with Santander fell into arrears, and court proceedings took place. Neither Santander or Equivo were willing to assist me and pushed ahead with attempting to evict my teenage daughter and myself. Obviously single fathers are frowned upon. I tried everything to remedy the situation, ie. trying to remortgage and even sell the house. Despite this, they pursued with an Eviction Notice. I challenged this through the courts over three hearings with three different judges. Each judge supported my actions, as did the solicitors for Equivo, who were, unfotunately, forced to proceed with the eviction. At one of the hearings, Equivo failed to even send a representative ! Fortunately, after a lot of hardship, I was eventually able to redeem the mortgage in December 2025, therby keeping a roof over the heads of my daughter and myself. After a further six months of pushing Santander for written confirmation, I last week received this. Today, 25 June 2026, I received a cheque from Santander, reimbursing me for court fees, charged incorrectly by Equivo in November 2023 !! They are a dispicable company and should be treated as such.
